Life has been an adventure!

In addition to working in various business situations over the years, I have also owned three small businesses:  a full-service specialty retail store, a real estate appraisal business, and a shop producing wood name plaques and laser engraved products.

I have always performed all of the bookkeeping functions in my businesses, including payroll, A/R, A/P, all state and federal filings, and the financial statements.  That is the nuts and bolts.  What I really like is using the financial data to better understand how various aspects of my business are doing and aid in making decisions for the future.

Somehow, I have always thought that most business owners liked managing the finances of their business.  As I have interacted with many business owners, I have learned that is far from the truth.  That is why I have opened my bookkeeping business.

For the past several years, my wife, Debbie, and I have been on an adventure.  We left our home state of Minnesota, became Texas residents, and have been traveling the country extensively in our RV.  We have continued to work.  I have been investing and trading securities, another passion of mine.  Debbie has her own business as a Plexus ambassador, selling health and wellness products.  And, yes, I am her bookkeeper!  Because it's so easy to have internet access, we can work and live almost anywhere.  We have been fortunate to see many beautiful areas of this great country.  This lifestyle has also allowed us to easily visit friends and family.  Being able to stay near our two sons, their wives, and our 6 grandkids has been a true blessing to us.
